Iratel Ventures Breakfast Series #1
I love VC’s who are willing to listen to entrepreneurs. I think it’s a great start in the right direction for Iratel Ventures and I wish you guys best of luck.
It has potential to become a vibrant space to discuss interesting topics around startups, investments and the enabling environment
Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of exceptional entrepreneurs, investors and mentors at our first breakfast meeting. We had intended for this meeting to have a structured by agenda less format that could inspire and motivate and are quite happy with the initial results. Everyone who attended got the chance to speak their mind and whenever the discussions became a little heated, we reminded everyone that we are not here to draw conclusions and only to inspire solutions and actions to help the ecosystem.
Below is a full list of topics that were suggested:
And these are the most upvoted topics:
1. M-learning
2. Is the Iranian ecosystem in a bubble?
3. Angel investing in Iran
Some of the suggestions for the next meeting were:
Increase diversity (i.e. more women); prompt schedule. An environment that would encourage and facilitate networking before and after the meeting.
How to maintain our own identity and culture while importing and utilizing the best of the standards and culture and knowledge that we can gain by looking outside of the boundaries of our own culture.
Make it more specific
Angle and VC cooperation
Inviting Product Managers/Founders/CEO’s with more hands-on and related experience, successful entrepreneurs, and skillful developers
We believe that the more open a dialogue the better it will allow innovation and bringing different disciplines together. For the next meetings, we will try and focus on the same model with broad themes to focus on. On the other hand, in order to have meaningful discussions, we will keep the numbers to a max of 15.
