Iratel Ventures Breakfast Series #8
We had the pleasure of hosting an amazing group of ecosystem players during the Iratel Ventures Breakfast Series #8 on Thursday. These events are usually open to RSVPs a week before the event.
The format was based on Lean Coffee, an agenda less but structured one where everyone got to introduce themselves, nominate a topic to be discussed and then vote for the most popular ones by the group. This session was one of the most crowded Breakfast Series events with more than 25 attendees.
They were from different backgrounds some with international experience coming back to native land to make a difference, some had a role in Iran startups and some entrepreneurs; however all of them have one thing in common, they were interested in startups.
There were some topics offered to be discussed that ranged from team making to investments priorities. Among all ideas two were voted most that were somehow intertwined:
Will High-Tech startups succeed in Iran? If so how?
What roles foreign investments can play in in Iran startup eco-system? What problems exist for this sort of investments? What capabilities and capacity building do startups need to have to be able to absorb investments?
We believe the more open the dialogue, the better it will allow innovation and bringing different disciplines including the investors together.
We’re so glad our guests constantly help us improve these events by the feedback they provide:
I think it is a useful event specially for those who have just come back to Iran and want to get a brief outlook over the current startup scene and challenges among founders.
I think would be nice to have a paper with all the names of the participants and their startups/occupations, so we can remember the names of each individual, get connected over linked-in for future potential collaborations.
Finally, if you’d like to be added to the breakfast mailing list, please sign up or follow us on LinkedIn.
This is the ninth in a series of posts about Iratel Ventures Events. We’d love to hear from teams with crazy (but commercial) startups. Get in touch or attend our breakfast series. Finally, don’t forget to get your IV Score or talk to our FundingBot to prepare for your next VC meeting.
Thanks to Dr. Fardad Zand and Hamidreza Sarabadani for their contribution.
