Iratel Ventures Breakfast Series #4
We had the pleasure of hosting an amazing group of ecosystem players during the Iratel Ventures Breakfast Series #4 on Thursday. These events are open to RSVPs a week before the event. This one had attracted quite a few number of investors.
The format was based on Lean Coffee, an agenda less but structured one where everyone got to introduce themselves, nominate a topic to be discussed and then vote for the most popular ones by the group. The most upvoted topics were:
Attracting Foreign Investment
Startup Valuations
How startups and investors can find each other
There were also questions and comments about our strategy for co-investments, our current portfolio and Iratel iLab, our very own innovation lab focused on global growth for startups in or related to Iran (more on this later).
We believe the more open the dialogue, the better it will allow innovation and bringing different disciplines together. For the next meetings, we will try and focus on the same model with broad themes to focus on. On the other hand, in order to have meaningful discussions, we will keep the numbers to a max of 15.
Below are some the feedback we got from the audience:
You have so much potential as a pioneer VC, structure these event via an event organizer. I think the vision for these events is that everyone shares the latest news and views.
I think the people present at the event were very enthusiastic and high quality (thanks to Iratel Ventures), but I think sticking to “Lean Coffee” format could really help. The audience needed more structured environment to really share what they know. A very well organised Lean Coffee or “Pecha Kucha” can really add value here.
This event gathered well-known people and they could exchange their viewpoints easily.
Inviting more prominent and multi-cultural people would be very interesting to me.
Finally, if you’d like to be added to the breakfast mailing list, please sign up or follow us on LinkedIn.
This is the sixth in a series of posts about Iratel Ventures Events which was also posted on LinkedIn. We’d love to hear from teams with crazy (but commercial) startups. Get in touch or attend our breakfast series. Finally, don’t forget to get your IV Score or talk to our FundingBot to prepare for your next VC meeting.
